Business Unit Overview

The Defence Business Unit is responsible for Centerprise International’s direct and indirect business dealings with the UK’s Armed Forces.  The Business Unit holds relationships with the MOD, all of the Front Line Commands and with the large system integrators who are providing solutions and services to the Defence sector.  It is responsible for selling and supporting the Company’s entire solutions portfolio into existing and new accounts.

Role Description

Our thriving Public Sector business is becoming more dependent on e-commerce platforms to meet customers growing expectations.  Our portals enable efficient selection and ordering of products and can be tailored to the client to include general and contract pricing and in some instances stock holdings.

 Key role reporting to the Public Sector Business Unit Directors, the candidate will play an integral part in contributing to the digital transformation of traditional client price list provision and internal processes to support the e-commerce platforms.

 The candidate will be primarily responsible for maintaining, developing and updating our e-commerce and catalogue systems including oversight of the daily automated updates of product and service sets.  This is achieved primarily via distribution channel feeds but can be complimented by our own internal stock holdings and services as well as selected third party suppliers.

 The constant development of our portals is key so that they remain relevant to our clients, exploit commercial advantage where possible, and streamline our internal sales process where necessary.


Other key tasks include:


  • MI reporting.  Assist in the development and generation of reports both internally and externally.  Internal reporting to Director, Defence and Director, Government to include spend analysis and proposals to increase sales.  External reporting against SLAs where customer contracts demand.
  • CSI.  Assist in developing additional functionality in line with developing market trends and customer expectations.
  • Review. Assist in the identification of top sellers for clients and any demand signals that may drive sales.  Cross-feed best practice from similar clients.
  • Resilience.  Ensure that as the role develops Work Instructions are in place to fully document the associated processes.
  • Bid Support.  Ability to stand-up demo accounts and provide SME input to tenders.
  • Change Management.  As a sponsor for the e-commerce capability maintain awareness of the improving technical delivery to ensure that change is controlled, and that appropriate knowledge is retained within the business.


The successful candidate will be required to achieve Security Clearance within 6 months of joining the team.
