Lead technical strategy and shape digital outcomes across Wales
This is a high-impact role at the centre of customer success, solution design, and regional growth. You will act as the technical authority across Wales, helping public and private sector organisations make confident technology decisions. Working closely with Account Managers, vendors, and partners, you will turn complex requirements into practical, outcome-driven solutions.
Role summary
As Regional Technical Solutions Lead, you will take ownership of solution design and technical strategy across the Wales region. You will support the full sales lifecycle, lead technical engagement on complex opportunities, and help shape a regional technology portfolio that reflects customer needs and market demand. This role suits an experienced pre-sales consultant or senior technical specialist ready to take on a more strategic and commercially focused position.
What you’ll do
Solution design and technical leadership
- Lead the design of infrastructure and software solutions across on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments
- Translate customer challenges into clear architectures aligned to business outcomes
- Ensure solutions are resilient, practical, and ready to support future needs
- Provide technical leadership across complex projects and customer engagements
Sales and bid engagement
- Act as the technical lead on high-value opportunities across the full sales lifecycle
- Own technical responses to RFPs, RFIs, and RFQs, including strong equivalency arguments
- Support Account Managers in winning new business and developing existing accounts
- Help position Centerprise clearly in competitive opportunities
Customer and stakeholder engagement
- Deliver presentations and technical briefings to technical and executive audiences
- Build trusted customer relationships and act as a strategic technical adviser
- Communicate complex ideas clearly to support confident decision-making
Vendor and partner collaboration
- Work with strategic vendors and partners, including Lenovo, Microsoft, and Aruba, to develop joint propositions
- Contribute to the development of the regional technology portfolio
- Strengthen collaboration across sales, delivery, and partner teams
Market insight and innovation
- Stay current with developments in cloud strategy, procurement frameworks, and modern infrastructure
- Use market insight to inform regional technical direction and maintain a competitive advantage
- Help ensure the Wales business remains aligned with customer demand and technology change

What you’ll bring
Core experience
- Proven experience in solution design, pre-sales, or technical architecture
- Experience supporting or leading technical sales opportunities
- Ability to design and present end-to-end solutions linked to business outcomes
- Experience working with customers and stakeholders at different levels, including senior leadership
Technical capability
- Strong understanding of modern infrastructure environments
- Experience with virtualisation technologies such as VMware and Hyper-V, as well as containerisation, including Kubernetes
- Solid networking knowledge, including Ethernet, TCP/IP, NAC, and 802.1x
- Understanding of public cloud platforms and hybrid architectures, including Azure, AWS, and GCP

- Comfortable presenting to senior stakeholders, including C-level audiences
- Analytical and inquisitive, with the confidence to challenge thinking constructively

Desirable
- Experience within the UK public sector or framework-based environments
- Bid leadership experience
- Relevant technical certifications, such as Microsoft, Cisco, or Lenovo
