The successful candidate will be key in identifying and winning new business across Central and Local Government, promoting our full range of end-to-end ICT infrastructure solutions and services.

About the Role:

As a Business Development Manager for our Public Sector team, you will secure new customers within the UK government vertical. You’ll work closely with internal teams—technical, service, alliances, bids, and marketing—to design and execute business development campaigns and account growth strategies and work with a wide range of sales teams within our strategic vendor partners.

You’ll demonstrate a deep understanding of ICT infrastructure sales, with the ability to listen actively, present persuasively, and build long-lasting relationships. You must be comfortable with the full sales cycle—from lead generation and cold outreach to closing deals and post-sale account management.

Initial conversations may begin around End-User Computing (EUC) products. Still, your focus will be on positioning our broader portfolio, including software, hybrid cloud, cyber-security, disaster recovery, and business continuity solutions, as the strategic IT partner for public sector organisations across the UK.

Key Responsibilities:

Generate leads and identify new sales opportunities within an agreed Public Sector account base.

Deliver compelling proposals, presentations, and quotations tailored to customer needs.

Build and nurture relationships with key decision-makers and influencers.

Execute consultative sales strategies that promote the complete Ci services and solutions portfolio.

Navigate procurement frameworks and understand associated systems and procedures.

Maintain accurate pipeline and activity records within Microsoft Dynamics CRM.

Collaborate with colleagues across departments to support pre-sales, bid writing, and campaign execution.

Actively participate in business generation activities, including events and marketing campaigns.

Consistently meet or exceed individual sales targets and performance KPIs.

Key Objectives:

Consistently deliver against assigned sales revenue and margin targets.

Develop and grow a high-quality, sustainable customer base.

Promote Centerprise’s capabilities, values, and value proposition to public sector customers.

Work as part of the wider Government Sales team to share best practices and deliver collective success.

Uphold professionalism and integrity in all customer and internal engagements.

What You’ll Bring:

Proven track record of exceeding sales targets in a Value-Added Reseller (VAR), MSP or similar environment.

Experience selling to the public sector, including Central or Local Government, NHS, Police, Blue Light, and Third Sector.

Confident with cold and warm calling, outbound prospecting, and building trust from first contact.

Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills; able to influence at all levels.

Familiarity with UK public sector procurement frameworks, portals and processes.

A working knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics CRM or similar platforms.

Self-motivated, well-organised, and adaptable to a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Desirable:

Knowledge of EUC, hybrid cloud, backup, disaster recovery, and IT continuity services.

Understanding of the challenges and drivers within the public sector IT landscape.

Experience in Territory and Account planning, and implementation of sales methodologies to optimise sales efforts.

Working Culture:

Collaborative, high-performance team environment

Commitment to innovation, continuous improvement, and professional development

Focused on delivering long-term, high-value customer outcomes
