As a Trainee Purchase Ledger Clerk, you will gain hands-on experience across supplier invoices, payment runs, reconciliations and SAP processes, with support from an experienced finance team.
Role Summary
This is an entry-level finance role within Centerprise’s Purchase Ledger team. You will be trained across core purchase ledger activities, helping the finance department process supplier documentation accurately, resolve queries and keep supplier records up to date.
What you’ll do
Purchase Ledger Processing
- Post supplier invoices and credit notes accurately.
- Prioritise supplier invoices linked to blocked stock.
- Raise and post supplier payment runs.
- Attach supplier invoices to the relevant postings in SAP.
Supplier Administration
- Reconcile supplier statements.
- Create new supplier accounts.
- Deal with query invoices and parked documents.
- Support accurate supplier records and documentation.
Team Support
- Work as part of the wider finance team to support day-to-day purchase ledger activity.
- Carry out additional finance duties when required.
- Follow company procedures for information security, incident reporting, health and safety.

- Supplier invoices and credit notes are processed accurately and on time.
- Payment runs are supported with care, accuracy and attention to detail.
- Supplier queries and parked documents are handled clearly and efficiently.
- Supplier statements and records are kept accurate and up to date.
- You build confidence across purchase ledger processes and become a trusted member of the team.
- You show a positive, reliable and professional approach to learning.
What you’ll bring
Core experience
- 5 GCSEs at grades 9 to 4, including English and Maths.
- GCSE Maths and English at grades A to C.
- A levels or BTEC, including results pending.
Technical capability
- Good numeracy skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Confidence working with systems and documentation.
- Willingness to learn SAP and purchase ledger processes.
